About

Sydney North HealthCARE Innovation Precinct

Sydney North HealthCARE Innovation Precinct brings together over 20 organisations across healthcare, research, education, and industry sectors. Centred around Royal North Shore Hospital, our precinct encompasses public and private hospitals, research institutes, university partners, and specialised facilities across Northern Sydney.

Our precinct operates as a learning health system where clinical trials are incorporated into patient care pathways, research findings inform clinical practice, and education is delivered within working healthcare environments. This structure, combined with the geographic co-location of partner organisations, facilitates collaboration across traditional sector boundaries.

Our Strategic Advantages

Co-located with the NSW Ministry of Health and its pillar organisations (Clinical Excellence Commission, Agency for Clinical Innovation), our precinct sits at a critical intersection of innovation and policy. This proximity provides direct access to decision-makers and creates streamlined pathways for translating successful local initiatives into state-wide implementation across NSW Health services.

Strategically positioned between Sydney CBD (8km) and Macquarie Park Innovation District (15km) – home to Australia’s largest concentration of biotech and medtech companies – our precinct connects healthcare delivery with cutting-edge commercial R&D. This location facilitates rapid industry partnerships, efficient clinical trial recruitment, and real-world validation of emerging technologies.
